SCOTT’S SPIRIT
I do not watch Dr. Gene Scott’s televised evangelism broadcasts, nor do I advocate his method of “bringing the Word” into my home.
However, I must congratulate him on his success in using his program to raise more than $2 million for replacing books destroyed by the fire in our Central Library. Scott made a tremendous contribution, and I would urge more resourceful citizens to take a lesson from his selflessness.
I think it would be nice if the city recognized Scott’s contribution in some way. He certainly reaffirmed my faith in the American spirit.
