Orange County Prep Soccer : Laguna Hills Keeps Streak Going, 1-0

Monica Schrout scored with five minutes left to lead the league-champion Laguna Hills High School girls’ soccer team to a 1-0 Pacific Coast League victory over Woodbridge.

It was the 21st shutout of the season for Laguna Hills, which did not allow a goal in league play. The Hawks (8-0, 19-0-4) are ranked No. 1 in division 3-A. Woodbridge (5-2-1, 8-7-3) finished second.

In the Empire League:

Pacifica 1, El Dorado 1--Jolene Malloy scored for the Golden Hawks as they tied Pacifica at Placentia. El Dorado is 4-7-2 in league, 4-9-3 overall.

In the South Coast league:

Mission Viejo 2, Capistrano Valley 0--Midfielder Julie Foudy scored her 22nd goal of the season 15 minutes in the game and Stephanie Cox scored at the 35-minute mark, leading the Diablos (10-0, 23-0-1), who are the top-ranked team in division 4-A. No. 8 Capo Valley is 6-3-1, 13-4-2.

In the Angelus League:

Mater Dei 2, Servite 1--Chris Mastropaolo scored with 11 minutes remaining as the Monarchs, who are ranked ninth in the 4-A division, won the league title with a victory at home. Marc Pagaza scored for Servite, and Paul Oldham scored the other goal for Mater Dei (13-1-1, 20-2-1). Servite (8-7, 11-12) finished third in league, securing a playoff spot.

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 2, Los Amigos 1--The Matadors trailed, 1-0, at halftime, but rallied in the second half, winning their first-ever league championship. A Mark Miller goal tied it, and Jose Cueva scored the winning goal with 15 minutes remaining at Bolsa Grande. The Matadors win the league with a 7-2-1 record, 9-8-1 overall. Los Amigos is 1-8-1 in league.

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 1, Valencia 0--Mike Oziminski scored on a header with about 11 minutes to play to lead Brea, the No. 1 team in the 2-A division. Brea (7-0-1, 15-4-3) has not lost a league game in four years. Valencia (3-4-1) could have clinched a playoff spot with a victory or tie, but now must play Anaheim in a playoff today.

Anaheim 6, Magnolia 2--Anaheim tied Valencia for third place with the victory.
