Cypress Beats Citrus in Softball, 1-0

Julie Mee scored on a ground ball in the bottom of the ninth to give the Cypress College women’s softball team a 1-0 victory over Citrus in an Orange Empire Conference game Friday at Cypress.

Mee, who reached third on an error, scored on a grounder to second by Gina McGee. Noel Parker (5-4) gave up two hits and struck out six for the Chargers (1-1, 5-4).

Stacy Schumaker gave up five hits, two walks and struck out six for Citrus (0-2 in conference).
