The Green Bay Packers will play an exhibition game this summer against the Washington Redskins at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wis., the team announed.

The game, Aug. 22, will be the second of the Packers’ exhibition schedule. The team opens a week earlier against the American Football Conference champion Denver Broncos in Tempe, Ariz.

The Packers will play the Cincinnati Bengals Aug. 29 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, and they will play the Cleveland Browns Sept. 5 at Milwaukee County Stadium.

In other news, last week a team official said the Packers have “kind of lukewarm” interest in quarterback Ron Jaworski.

Tom Braatz, executive vice president for football operations, said the Packers might consider signing Jaworski as a back-up quarterback.

“He can’t go a full season, and he’s kind of a pocket quarterback,” Braatz said. “The defense knows where he’s going to be.”

Jaworski played in 10 games last year, but went out for the season when he tore a tendon on his passing hand. The injury did not require surgery.

He completed 52.2% of his passes for 1,405 yards, eight touchdowns and six interceptions.
