Kennedy Girls Face 3-Time Champion Point Loma Tonight

Kennedy High, the two-time defending City 4-A champion, faces Point Loma in the second round of the state girls Division I playoffs tonight at 7:30 at Serra High in San Diego:
Point Loma (31-0), which has won three straight state titles, is currently ranked No. 10 in the nation by USA Today. The team’s best player, 6-2 senior Terri Mann, is nicknamed “Baby Moses” for her on-court similarity to Moses Malone.
Kennedy (23-2), led by senior forward Diane DeCree (21 points and 14 rebounds) and junior guard Tisa Rush (23 points), advanced to the second round by easily defeating Hanford, 55-34, Tuesday. Point Loma received a first-round bye.
