Share

In a game in which the score suggests touchdowns and field goals, not hits and runs, the Moorpark High softball team scored 12 runs in the first inning and defeated Crossroads, 24-17, at Moorpark.

“A pitchers’ battle it wasn’t,” Moorpark Coach Larry McDermott said.

No kidding.

There were 33 hits and 34 walks in the game. Crystal Babcock of Moorpark had two hits in both the first and sixth innings.

Crossroads’ starter Kim West gave up four hits and walked 10 batters in the first inning before being replaced by Mindy Moore, who walked two more batters before retiring the side.
