Herring Is Named South Coast MVP

Mike Herring, an Irvine High School forward who averaged 18.5 points for the Vaqueros this season, was named most valuable player of the South Coast League in a vote of league basketball coaches.

El Toro, which shared the league championship with Capistrano Valley, placed two players on the first team. The coaches’ teams:
