Fullback Daniel Behrendt and halfback Fabrizio Luppi, Venice High School seniors, and Westchester High senior halfback Kenny Blackman were named to the All-Los Angeles City soccer team by a vote of coaches.

Second-team selections included Hollywood High senior fullback Hilton Lara and Venice seniors Luis Lopez and Jose Guerra, both fullbacks. Westchester senior halfback Brian Happy received honorable mention.

Santa Monica College sophomores Derick Gathers and Randall Moos were named to the All-Western State Conference basketball team, and SMC freshman Michael Courtney received honorable mention. Gathers’ brother Hank was a redshirt at Loyola Marymount this season.

Joe R. Douglas, founder, coach and president of the Santa Monica Track Club, is one of 6,000 men and women listed in the 1986-87 edition of Who’s Who in California. Douglas, who established the club in 1972, has been a teacher and coach at Westchester High School and a coach at Santa Monica College. Top athletes who have competed for the Santa Monica club include Carl Lewis, Kirk Baptiste, Johnny Gray and Carol Lewis.

Mary Stockley of West Los Angeles finished first in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles and in the 50 breaststroke in the Southern California Regional Senior Olympics swim trials at Palm Springs. The National Senior Olympics will begin June 27 in St. Louis.

Holes in one were scored at Los Angeles municipal golf courses by Is Pastor and Bill Shinderman, both of West Los Angeles, at Penmar; Jody Belsey of West Los Angeles at Woodley Lakes; Ray Weisberg of Santa Monica at Hansen Dam and by Steven Stern and Lloyd Swann, both of West Los Angeles, at the Rancho Park nine-hole course.

Stan Funk shot a gross of 34 to win the A flight in the March tournament of the Penmar Men’s Golf Club. Other flight winners and their gross scores: Sid Pearl, 36 in B; Judd Vinicks, 36 in C; Art Perfit, 46 in D, and Pete Jones, 46 in E.
