Community College Softball : Fullerton’s Gonzales Blanks Cypress
Annette Gonzales pitched a two-hitter to lead Fullerton College to a 3-0 victory over Cypress Sunday in the second round of the Fullerton College softball tournament at Fullerton.
The Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the first on a single by Christine Sison and an RBI double by Liz Cervantes.
Julie Poulos singled, stole second, and scored on a single by Sison in the third. Sison singled in Kelle Mead in the fifth.
In other Fullerton tournament play:
Saddleback 3, San Bernardino 0--Debbie Hartwig had a pair of RBI doubles and scored a run for the Gauchos. Hartwig doubled home Kelli Thomas in the first. Hartwig scored on a single by Dina Granham in the fourth and doubled home Lori Methot in the seventh.
Patti Taylor pitched a three-hitter for the victory.
The tournament continues next Saturday.
