Jon Fielder of the Los Posas Country Club in Camarillo shot four-over par 220 to finish in a tie for third place in a $32,000 Golden State Tour event at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Goleta on Friday. Fielder on $1,575.

Wayne Case of Westlake tied for fourth at 221 in the 54-hole event to win $1,210.

Mark Bailey of Temple City shot even-par 216 to win the tournament and a purse of $5,000.

Infielder Doug Baker, formerly of Granada Hills High and Valley College, was optioned Friday by the Detroit Tigers to Toledo, the American League club’s Triple-A affiliate in the International League.

Saugus High forward Rusty Morse and Canyon guard Greg Paskwietz have been named first-team All-Southern Section in the 3-A Division. Saugus guard Greg Weber made the second team.

Morse, a 6-5 senior, averaged 16.5 points a game to help lead the Centurions to the 3-A championship. Saugus advanced to the Southern California regional final of the state tournament before losing to eventual state champion Woodbridge, 65-53.

Paskwietz, a 6-0 senior, averaged 20.4 points for the Cowboys.

Weber, a 6-0 senior, averaged nine points and four assists for Saugus.

Eric Wynalda, a senior forward on the Westlake High soccer team, has been named the Southern Section 4-A offensive Player of the Year. Egan Forino (Agoura) and Cris Clercuzio (Oak Park) were named offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively, in the boys 1-A Division. Larry Jaffe (Oak Park) was named Coach of the Year.

In the girls 2-A Division, Dawn Krenik (Agoura) was named offensive Player of the Year and Lisa Ferragamo (Agoura) shared defensive co-player of the year honors with Christen Maw (Ontario Christian). Dave Godwin (Agoura) was Coach of the Year.

Jay Borick of Taft, the defending City Section pole vault champion, probably will miss the rest of the season, Coach Tom Stevenson said. Borick, who has a personal best of 14-9 3/4, has been sidelined since February because of a back injury .
