Fire Hits Alvarado Street Hotel
A fire broke out on the top floor of a four-story hotel across from MacArthur Park this morning but was extinguished quickly by firefighters before it caused any injuries. It took firefighters just 17 minutes to control the 11:35 a.m. blaze, which penetrated the attic at the Palms Wilshire Hotel at 626 S. Alvarado St. The cause was not immediately determined.
