Community College Track : OCC Women Sweep 5,000 Meters

Orange Coast College swept the first six places of the women’s 5,000-meter final in the Orange Empire Conference Championships at Saddleback College Tuesday.

Loi Curl was the 5,000 champion in a time of 18:18.9. Following Curl were Pirates Debbie Lies (18:45.6), Tracy Wright (19:25.0), Delinda Patino (19:41.0), Julie Yost (19:44.3) and Kelly Keegan (20:02.2).

Dave Parsel of Orange Coast won the men’s 10,000-meter final in 32:08.3. Parsel was followed by teammate Jose Alcaraz (32:33.1) and Augie Guitieras of Saddleback (32:40.1).

Conference finals continue Friday at Saddleback College with field events beginning at 4 p.m. and running events at 5:45 p.m.
