Viewpoint/ Letters : The Right Newspaper, but the Wrong Edition

Share

Imagine my chagrin when I arose last Sunday at 5:30 in the morning and walked two miles to buy a copy of The Times for the express purpose of viewing the sports page for news of the Laker and Dodger games. Zilch was what I observed.

Later in the day, I borrowed the neighbor’s sports page. I had bought an edition that was printed too early for news of the local games. But The Times does not identify the edition, first, second, final, etc. The Sunday paper arrives tied with a fiberglass string. I am sure I would upset the vendor if I untied the paper to investigate its content. Might even spark a confrontation. Please mention this to the Head Honcho. Ask him to identify the edition.

I buy The Times only for the sports page as it has the best coverage and the best writers of any local paper. You owe me one dollar.
