Christian Upsets Schwartz at Speedway
Alan Christian of Huntington Beach won his first scratch main event of the season Friday in front of 5,759 at the weekly speedway racing motorcycle program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
He upset Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa, who had won 19 of 23 scratch main events in the first seven weeks of the season.
Mike Faria of Colton finished third and Bobby Ott of Newport Beach took fourth.
Faria came back to win the nine-lap handicap main event, ahead of second-place Dubb Ferrell of Whittier. Brad Oxley of San Clemente finished third and John Cook Roseville finished fourth.
In the support class main event, Shane diIullo, a senior from Edison High School, won.
