After his team’s 50-0 loss to Reseda High and Coach Joel Schaeffer last season, North Hollywood Coach Fred Grimes grimaced, saying something about “every dog having his day.”

The coach of the Huskies hopes that day is July 17.

Grimes and Rick Scott of Hart will coach the East team while Schaeffer and Bill Redell of Crespi coach the West in the eighth Daily News all-star football game at Pierce College at 7:30 p.m. on July 17.

With the likes of Hart’s Jim Bonds and Canyon’s Ken Sollom at quarterback, the East team can be expected to put the ball in the air. Bonds passed for 3,225 yards and 39 touchdowns and Sollom threw for 2,818 yards and 29 touchdowns last season. Both will have a favorite target to throw to--Chris Hite of Hart, who caught 88 passes, and Canyon’s Chad Zeigler, who caught 46.
