The only witnesses to an Oakland shooting that left two people dead and two others critically injured are a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, who investigators say have not been able to provide much information to police. “Kids that age don’t really know a handgun from a machine gun,” said Sgt. Jim Hahn. The children, along with an infant girl, were not hurt in the attack at an east Oakland apartment. Police, who have no suspects in custody, said the shootings appear to have occurred during a residential robbery. Killed were Deborah Carradine, 23, and Beatrice Pearson, 30. Pearson’s 37-year-old sister, Betty, was critically injured, as was Derwin White, 21. Carradine was the mother of a 4-day-old girl and the 7-year-old boy.
