Thanks, Support for Beach Club

Share

As president of the U. S. Paddle Tennis Assn., I just wanted to leave your readers with another perspective of the Sand and Sea Club and its members other than the one in your article of July 9, in which the Sand and Sea Club was portrayed as a playground for the rich and elite.

Since 1966, the Sand and Sea Club has made all of their facilities available to the U. S. Paddle Tennis Assn. each year free of charge for paddle tennis tournaments open to the public, including junior tournaments, senior tournaments for players from 35 to 70 and open tournaments for all players.

This is in direct contrast to the other clubs on the Santa Monica beachfront who steadfastly refuse access to their facilities or paddle tennis courts for tournaments open to the public.

The Sand and Sea Club and its members have been loyal and generous friends to the paddle tennis public and I thank them for their support.
