Trevor Berbick Stops Art Terry in the Fifth
Heavyweight Trevor Berbick, who lost to Mike Tyson, the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Assn. champion, his last time out, stopped Art Terry at 1:33 of the fifth round of their scheduled 10-round fight Friday night.
Berbick, of Miramar, Fla., improved his record to 32-5-1. Terry, of Salem, W.Va., dropped to 5-5-1.
In other fights on the card, Mark Holmes scored a unanimous decision over Derrick Earvin in an eight-round super-middleweight bout. Holmes, the younger brother of former heavyweight champion Larry Holmes, is 37-1 while Earvin dropped to 15-9.
Tyrone Frazier, a nephew of former heavyweight champion Joe Frazier, scored a ninth-round knockout of Kenny Styles in a middleweight bout. Frazier is 15-0.
