YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK —
A 1,000-acre forest fire in Yosemite National Park has closed the road to scenic Glacier Point today, and firefighters were keeping the blaze from reaching the Yosemite Valley’s rim.
Officials said campers and park facilities were not being threatened by two fires on both sides of Glacier Point Road. The fires, caused by a lightning strike, have been burning since July 23.
