Reseda Beats Cleveland in Alumni Tournament

Erik Marquez scored 32 points and added eight rebounds to lead Reseda to an 83-76 victory Friday over Cleveland in the losers’ bracket of a high school alumni basketball tournament at Taft High. Don Disney scored 19 and Mel Fleeman had 15 for Cleveland, which was eliminated.
In another losers’ bracket game, Kennedy defeated El Camino Real, 62-59, behind Curtis Sumlin’s 28 points. Mel Bailey had 12, 10 in the second half. Larry Murphy had 16 for El Camino Real, which was eliminated.
Reseda plays Kennedy today at Taft, followed by a Crespi-Monroe game in the winners’ bracket.
