College Football : Baylor Rallies on Fourth-Quarter Drive for 21-14 Victory Over Nevada Las Vegas
Charles Perry ran two yards for a touchdown Saturday night to cap a fourth-quarter drive that rallied Baylor to a 21-14 victory over Nevada Las Vegas.
During the drive, Baylor faced a fourth-and-a-foot situation on its 49 with 8 1/2 minutes left. Perry picked up the first down and, six plays later, dived in for the touchdown. The Bears added the two-point conversion.
Perry rushed for 134 yards in 23 carries to help the Bears improve to 2-1. UNLV dropped to 0-2.
UNLV, from the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, had taken a 14-13 lead over the Southwest Conference team with 4:42 left in the third quarter when Scott Sims hit Cedric Davis with a 5-yard scoring toss.
A pair of field goals by Terry Syler had helped Baylor to a 13-7 first-half advantage. Syler kicked second-quarter field goals of 32 and 44 yards, the second coming with just 26 seconds remaining in the half.
