Orange County Community College Roundup : Lundberg Scores Three Goals in Golden West Win
Freshman Kurt Lundberg scored three goals to lead the Golden West College men’s soccer team to a 7-0 nonconference victory over Riverside College Tuesday at Golden West.
Other goals for the Rustlers (3-0-2) were scored by Dwayne Lee, Mazen Zakaria, Jose Cueva and George Rojas.
Goalies Erik Smith and Steve Ross combined to give Golden West its second shutout of the season. Riverside had only 9 shots on goal compared to Golden West’s 29.
In other men’s soccer:
Orange Coast 3, San Diego Mesa 2--Javier Diaz scored late in the second half to help the Pirates gain the nonconference victory at San Diego.
Diaz’ goal broke a 2-2 tie. Orange Coast’s Bill Reinhardt scored two goals in the first half. The Pirates are 2-2-1.
In water polo:
Long Beach 12, Golden West 10--The Rustlers lost at Long Beach despite a four-goal performance by Scott Larson.
