Reaves Leads Valley Past Harbor, 40-12

James Reaves scored three touchdowns as Valley College moved its offense up and down the field at will and rolled to a 40-12 victory over Harbor on Saturday in a Southern California Conference game at Harbor.

Reaves scored on touchdown receptions of 10 and 3 yards and ran for 15-yard score late in the fourth quarter.

Valley held a 19-0 lead midway through the third quarter when Harbor scored its first touchdown. Valley (4-0, 3-0 in conference) added three more touchdowns in the fourth quarter and Harbor scored with 30 second left to produce the final result.

Valley quarterback Barry Hanks completed 13 of 23 passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Reaves caught a 10-yard pass from Hanks to score Valley’s first touchdown, capping a nine-play, 65-yard drive. Dondre Bausley carried the ball on seven consecutive plays to set up the score.

Bausley, who rushed for 97 yards on 10 carries in the first quarter, ran 39 yards for a touchdown to conclude a seven-play, 89-yard drive. He finished with 153 yards on 24 carries.

Valley’s defense, which held Harbor to 208 yards total offense, recorded a safety when linebacker Larry Muir blocked a punt out of the end zone to make the score 16-0 at the half.
