The Super Bowl champion New York Giants will be in the Giants Stadium parking lot for the second straight day tonight, peacefully mingling with striking New York Jets and some of their fans.

Inside the stadium, Phil Simms, Lawrence Taylor and their striking teammates will be replaced by the likes of Jim Crocicchia, Chris Davis and other unknowns against a team of San Francisco 49ers.

“From what I understand, (the 49ers) have 15 guys who played in the league, that’s all I need to know about them,” said Crocicchia, the former Penn quarterback who will replace Simms tonight.

When the Giants signed cornerback Donald Brown Friday, he immediately became a starter and their fourth player with NFL experience. Brown played for San Diego and Miami. Tackle Bill Dugan played for Seattle and Minnesota from 1981-84, running back Van Williams played for Buffalo from 1983-85 and linebacker Jeff Tootle played one NFL game.
