Whiteley Leaves Golden West to Coach Baseball at Pacifica
Bill Whitely, a former Westminster coach and player, has been named Pacifica High School baseball coach, said George Terlaak, Mariner athletic director.
Whiteley replaces Bob Von Eps, who resigned after last season. Whiteley, 31, was an assistant to Fred Hoover at Golden West College last season. He coached at Westminster from 1983-86 and before that had been an assistant at Huntington Beach from 1980-82.
He also played baseball for Golden West from 1974-75 and finished his career at Pacific Christian.
