Cassie Lambris Memorial Service Set

A memorial service for Cassie Lambris, a former athlete and athletic trainer at Orange Coast College who died Monday, will be held Saturday in Santa Ana. Lambris was 32.

Lambris played basketball and softball at OCC from 1974-75. She worked as an assistant athletic trainer at OCC under Leon Skeie from 1975-79.

Lambris, who lived in Yorba Linda, worked at the Sports Trauma and Athletic Rehabilitation Institute in Fountain Valley.

She had undergone several kidney operations before she joined the OCC women’s basketball team, and she had a kidney transplant in 1979. Her death has been attributed to an apparent heart attack.

OCC has established a scholarship fund in Lambris’ memory. Services will be held at Santa Ana’s Fairhaven Memorial Park at 11 a.m.
