Orange County College Roundup : Wilson’s 4 Goals Lead UC Irvine

Greg Wilson scored four goals to lead the UC Irvine water polo team to a 9-2 victory over UC Santa Barbara in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. match Saturday at Newport Harbor High School.

In volleyball:

UC Irvine 3, William & Mary 0--The Anteaters, who won the nonconference match, 15-9, 15-13, 15-10, were led by Chris Roberts (10 kills) and Cathy Robles (9).

Army 3, Chapman 0--The Panthers lost to Army, 15-11, 16-14, 15-7, in the championship of the J.H. Oakes tournament at West Point, N.Y. Chapman’s Tammy Light and Dana Beardsley made the all-tournament team.

In men’s soccer:

Chapman 3, Cal Poly Pomona 1--The Panthers’ Mauricio Musiet had a goal and two assists in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. game at Pomona. Chapman is 1-0-1, 6-3-2. Pomona is 0-2, 4-6-2.

In women’s soccer:

Cal Poly Pomona 3, Chapman 1--Kristin Harkins from La Quinta and Amy Baren from Foothill each had a goal for Pomona. Debbie Stuart had Chapman’s only goal.

In men’s golf:

Greg Sato shot a 224 and tied for 24th to lead UC Irvine to 10th place at the New Mexico State Classic. Per Nyman of New Mexico Junior College was the medalist at 210. The University of Texas El Paso won the team title.
