A federal judge in Tampa, Fla., has refused to halt the Wednesday telecast of a Titanic salvage special. U.S. District Judge W. Terrell Hodges rejected a request for a temporary restraining order to stop a two-hour syndicated broadcast, “Return to the Titanic . . . Live” (to be broadcast on KTLA-TV Channel 5) originating in Monte Carlo and hosted by Telly Savalas. A French citizen and several Florida residents identifying themselves as investors filed suit Monday, seeking an emergency injunction and $300 million in damages, claiming they were cheated out of their share of the venture.
