Orange County Prep Football : Pacifica Holds Off Kennedy, 7-5, on Ravelo’s TD Run
Oscar Ravelo’s four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave Pacifica High School a 7-5 victory over Kennedy Thursday night in a Garden Grove League game in front of 1,100 at Bolsa Grande High School.
Ravelo scored, then kicked the extra point with 6:45 left in the period to give Pacifica (5-2-1, 4-1) a 7-0 lead. Ravelo rushed for 66 yards in 23 carries.
Kennedy (2-5-1, 2-2-1) drove 49 yards to the Pacifica 18-yard line, but had to settle for a 35-yard field goal by Richard Milne with just less than nine minutes left in the game.
Pacific quarterback Shelby Hart ran out of the back of the end zone with 16 seconds left for a safety to cut the victor’s margin to two points.
Following the free kick, Pacifica’s Marc Johnson intercepted a pass from Kennedy quarterback Pete Montera as time ran out.
Sophomore Ed Williams ran for 118 yards in 25 carries for Kennedy. Pacifica’s Chris Shockley led Pacifica with 95 yards in 11 carries.
