FALL HIGHLIGHTS : Crespi Clinches Water Polo Playoff Berth With 12-10 Del Rey Win

Crespi High assured itself of a berth in the Southern Section 3-A Division water polo playoffs with a 12-10 victory over St. John Bosco in a Del Rey League match at Cal State Northridge on Saturday.

Eric Dolce scored three goals and Randy King and John Beiner each scored two for Crespi.

Crespi (6-4 in league play) clinched a third-place finish in the league standings with the win.

Royal 13, Buena 10--Mike Onoye scored four goals for Royal and teammates Steve Robinson, Devin Hurst and Gary Smith each added two in the nonleague match at Newbury Park High.

Royal, the Marmonte League champion for the seventh consecutive season, is 15-10, 8-0 in league play.

COLLEGE WRESTLING

Rio Hondo 82, Cypress 63, Palomar 56 1/2, Golden West 55 1/2, Rancho Santiago 49 3/4, Cerritos 45, Moorpark 28--Vince Plymire of Moorpark won all four of his matches to place first in the heavyweight division of the Cypress tournament.

GIRL’S VOLLEYBALL

Village Christian d. Montclair Prep, 15-10, 15-0, 15-6--Danyelle Weeks had seven kills and two service aces and Jana Kovar had three kills and four service aces to lead Village Christian in the Alpha league match. Village Christian, the fifth-ranked team in the Southern Section 1-A Division, is 11-3 overall and 7-3 in league play. Montclair Prep is 1-9 in league play.
