UC San Diego Falls in Soccer Regional

UC San Diego, ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division III, lost the West-Midwest women’s regional soccer final Sunday to host St. Thomas College of St. Paul, Minn., 1-0.

The Tritons (14-5-2) had 15 shots on goal but could not convert. St. Thomas, ranked No. 13, had just two shots on goal, but scored on Jill Thompson’s shot seven minutes into the match. St. Thomas (12-3-1) advances to the semifinals of the national championship tournament.
