Oak Tree Racing at Santa Anita : Balladry Rallies to Win Feature

Balladry moved up along the inner rail at the start of the stretch to beat favorite and pace-setter Devil’s Bride by a head in the $45,000 feature race before 16,111 fans Thursday at Santa Anita’s Oak Tree meeting.
Balladry, ridden by Chris McCarron, covered six furlongs in 1:09 2/5 and paid $6.80, $2.80 and $2.60 in the sprint for fillies and mares. The victory was worth $24,750.
Devil’s Bride, ridden by Rafael Meza, was 4 1/2 lengths ahead of Fairly Old and returned $2.80 and $2.40. Fairly Old, ridden by Alan Patterson, paid $3.40 to show.
