South Carolina 76, Miami 63--Darryl Martin collected 16 points and 9 rebounds and the Gamecocks turned back the Hurricanes in the championship game of the City of Miami tournament.

South Carolina (4-0) pulled away by making six straight free throws in the final seconds.

Eric Brown scored 26 points for Miami (2-3). Tito Horford added 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Florida State 63, Penn State 60--Tony Dawson scored 19 points, including a pair of free throws with six seconds left, and the Seminoles squeezed past the Nittany Lions at Tallahassee, Fla.

The Seminoles (3-0) led, 48-28, with 18:12 left but went scoreless for 10 minutes, allowing Penn State (1-2) to score 16 straight points and pull within 48-44.

Penn State got within 61-60 on Tom Hovasse’s three-pointer with 1:01 left but didn’t score again.

Wisconsin 92, Butler 80--Freshman Tim Locum scored 29 points and the Badgers pulled away in the second half to down the Bulldogs at Madison, Wis.

Butler (2-2) was within 37-34 at halftime, but Wisconsin (3-1) took control with a 29-5 spurt at the outset of the second half.

Trent Jackson had 25 points for Wisconsin. Darren Folkes scored 26 for Butler, including seven three-pointers.

Clemson 103, Mercer 68--Sophomore center Elden Campbell scored 29 points and the Tigers scored their 32nd straight non-conference victory at home by routing the Bears at Clemson, S.C.

The Tigers (4-0) made 59.4% of their shots (41 of 69), including 11 of 16 from three-point range.

Chris Phillips scored 17 points for Mercer (1-1).

Seton Hall 93, Wagner 52--Mark Bryant scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half and the Pirates a 30-point lead before intermission cruised past the Seahawks in the opening round of the Seton Hall Tipoff tournament at South Orange, N.J.

Bryant had 10 points during a 31-2 scoring spurt that gave the Pirates (5-1) a 38-8 lead late in the first half.

Dean Borges had 19 points and 16 rebounds for Wagner (1-1).
