SUTTON COLDFIELD, England —
The 1989 Ryder Cup golf competition between Europe and the United States will be staged a week later than originally scheduled, from Sept. 22-24, organizers said Thursday.
The PGA European Tour officials said the date has been changed following a request from the American team.
The event will be staged at The Belfry, headquarters of the PGA European Tour and the scene of Europe’s triumph in 1985.
