Community Colleges : A 35-0 Run Lifts Rancho Santiago to 92-41 Victory

Rancho Santiago College ran off 35 consecutive points starting late in the first half and defeated the Pomona Pitzer junior varsity, 92-41, Thursday in a men’s nonconference basketball game at Rancho Santiago.
Rancho Santiago scored the final 5 points of the first half to lead, 42-22, and the first 30 points of the second to make it 72-22.
Tony Smalley scored 17 points, Mike Oden 14 and Alonzo Jamison and Kenny Ammann 13 each for Rancho Santiago (15-5).
In a nonconference women’s game:
Orange Coast 78, Marin 56--Freshman forward Gilly Powell scored 29 points for OCC (9-10) at home.
