USD to Play Weber State Tonight
The University of San Diego plays Weber State of the Big Sky Conference tonight at 6:30 (PST) in a nonconference men’s basketball game at Ogden, Utah.
Weber State, directed by former UCLA coach Larry Farmer, is 2-10 and has lost its last two games. Weber State lost seven straight earlier this season.
But Weber State beat Cal State Fullerton, 81-77, earlier this season at Ogden. Fullerton beat USD, 76-53.
Forward Rico Washington has averaged 20.1 points and 9.3 rebounds. Teammate Tim Gibbs has a 12.8 scoring average.
The Wildcats’ problem has been turnovers. They have averaged 21 a game.
USD has not won on the road this season, unless the victory over San Diego State at the San Diego Sports Arena is counted. The Toreros (7-5) lost, 83-72, to the University of Colorado Saturday night at Boulder. Marty Munn made five three-pointers and scored 19 points in that game. Danny Means scored 17, and Efrem Leonard added 16.
