Soccer Roundup : Bolsa Grande Keeps Pacifica at Bay, 4-3
Bolsa Grande boys’ soccer team held off a second-half rally by Pacifica to beat the Mariners, 4-3, in a Garden Grove League match Monday at Bolsa Grande.
The Matadors (3-3-3, 1-0-2) gained a 4-0 halftime lead. Craig McWhirter, Mark Miller, Tim Desrosiers and Fernando Cueva all scored one goal each in the first half. Goalie Nacho Yogues had 11 saves for Bolsa Grande.

La Quinta 5, Santiago 2--The Aztecs had a 4-1 lead at halftime and added a penalty kick by Brian Guiliano in the second half for their first league victory at Santiago. Chris Doherty, Steve Kalajian, Jim Brannan and Chuck Woo all scored in the first half for La Quinta (4-4-2, 1-1-1).
Kennedy 3, Los Amigos 0--Mark Piening and Mark Florek each scored in the first half for the Fighting Irish (6-2-2, 3-0).
