Greg Shadid, who resigned as the Bolsa Grande High School football coach last week, has been hired as an Orange Coast College assistant.
Shadid, who compiled a 34-34 record at Bolsa Grande and led the team to the Central Conference championship in 1986, will be a defensive assistant, said OCC Coach Bill Workman.
“He’s obviously a good football coach,” Workman said.
Shadid said he intends to continue teaching history in the Garden Grove Unified School District. When he resigned from Bolsa Grande, he said he hoped to coach at the community college level.
“I’m really excited about the situation,” Shadid said. “This is really something I wanted to do.”
