Satterfield Scores 25 to Fuel Kennedy, 85-66

Led by senior guard Uba Satterfield’s game-high 25 points, Kennedy High defeated Hamilton, 85-66, in a Valley League game at Kennedy on Wednesday.

Kennedy (16-4, 8-4 in league play) took control early and moved out to a 27-16 lead at the end of the first quarter. Kennedy led at the half, 34-24, and took an 18-point lead after three quarters.

Forwards Leon Ware and Eugene Miller each added 17 points for the Golden Cougars. Senior center Clarence Williams scored 9 points and reserve guard Cord Bailey added 8 for Kennedy.

“Everybody played, and everybody did something,” Kennedy Coach Yutaka Shimizu said. “The really bright spot was that we had 23 assists, so everybody was getting into it.”

Kennedy opens postseason play at 7:30 p.m. Friday against visiting Dorsey in the first round of the City Section 4-A Division playoffs.
