Former Louisiana State University basketball star Don Redden was buried after an autopsy blamed his death at 24 on a heart attack.

Officials said there were no drugs involved in Redden’s death.

The former player was found unconscious about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in his girlfriend’s apartment. He was dead on arrival about 30 minutes later at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. The East Baton Rouge Parish coroner’s office ruled the death resulted from a disease of the heart muscle.

“It was basically a heart attack,” deputy coroner Chuck Smith said.
