Comet Spikers Beat Champ University

In a Western League volleyball opener at Westchester High, the Comets defeated University for the first time in four years, 11-15, 15-9, 15-5, 15-11. University is the defending City champion.
The Comets were led by junior Jimmy Blackman’s 14 kills and senior Brett Schroeder’s net play, with 7 blocks and 8 kills. Junior Dan Belson added 8 kills. Westchester improved to 7-1.
