Cliburn Will Manage Pirates’ Class A Team

PITTSBURGH —
The Pittsburgh Pirates have named Stan Cliburn manager of the club’s class A team in Watertown, N.Y.
Cliburn, 31, will serve as player-coach for the Pirates’ Buffalo triple A affiliate until the New York-Penn League schedule begins in mid-June.
Cliburn signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent on Feb. 4. He has played 14 seasons of professional baseball with the California, Pittsburgh and Atlanta organizations.
