NBA Roundup : Clyde Drexler Scores 42 in Portland Win

Clyde Drexler equaled his career-high for a third time this season, scoring 42 points to pace the Portland Trail Blazers to a 128-123 victory over the Utah Jazz Thursday night at Salt Lake City.

The victory ended a string of 12 consecutive losses for Portland in Salt Lake City dating, back to Feb. 18, 1984.

Club records for assists were set on each team, with Stockton dishing off 26 times for Utah and Terry Porter handing out 19 for Portland.

Kevin Duckworth had 26 points and Porter 25 for Portland. Utah was led by Kark Malone with 39 points and 11 rebounds. Thurl Bailey came off the bench to score 33 for the Jazz, while Stockton added 17.

Chicago 116, Indiana 110--Michael Jordan, despite making only 12 of 28 shots, scored 35 points, and the Bulls rallied from a 12-point first-half deficit to win at Indianapolis.

Jordan, who missed 7 of 8 shots in the first quarter, scored 10 points in the third period, when Chicago took its first lead of the game. The NBA’s leading scorer also led the Bulls down the stretch, scoring 10 of the team’s final 15 points.

Houston 123, Sacramento 105--Akeem Olajuwon led six Houston players in double figures with 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds at Houston as the Kings lost for the 11th straight time on the road.

Injury-plagued Sacramento suited up just nine players.
