Bonita Vista 17, Marian 6--Thanks to a brisk wind and the small confines at Marian, Bonita Vista hit seven home runs, tied for fourth highest in San Diego Section history. Santana set the section mark for homers in a game with 10 in 1985.

Three of Bonita Vista’s homers were in succession in the sixth inning by Randy Abshier (grand slam), Art Adrid and Jeff Narlock to tie Bonita Vista for fourth nationally for most consecutive homers with Three Lakes (Wis.) High School, according to the National High School Sports Record Book.

Craig Catlin added another home run in the sixth, tying Bonita Vista for fourth nationally with Elkhorn City (Ky.) for most homers in an inning.

Also hitting homers for Bonita Vista were David Tappan, Teddy Ehrhardt and Casey June. Brannon Hays, Beto Martinez and David Powers hit home runs for Marian (3-11, 1-3).

Sweetwater 11, Mar Vista 2--Larry Meza had 3 hits, 3 RBIs and 3 stolen three for Sweetwater (8-9-1, 2-2). Mar Vista (3-3, 0-4) allowed nine runs in the third.

Montgomery 11, Coronado 4--The visitors had 11 hits and dealt Scott Brovan his first loss in eight decisions. Arturo Golembiewski had three hits, and Alberto Candelaria had two hits and two runs for Montgomery (9-4, 3-1). Coronado (12-4, 3-1) had five errors.

CITY EASTERN LEAGUE

Madison 6, Mira Mesa 4--Winner Andy Williams drove in the winning run with a double in the sixth inning for No. 2 Madison. Buzz Brown and Chris Pinzini both homered for Madison (17-1, 6-0). No. 8 Mira Mesa is 11-5 and 3-3.

Patrick Henry 9, Morse 8--Mike Brown had a double, a triple and two RBIs for Patrick Henry (8-7, 3-3). Morse is 10-6 and 4-2.

Point Loma 8, Serra 6--Brett Calan was 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs for Point Loma (7-8, 2-4). Todd Baham hit a two-run homer in the fourth but took the loss for Serra (4-12, 0-6).

CITY WESTERN LEAGUE

Mission Bay 8, Clairemont 4--Scott Kuhl struck out seven to extend his record to 5-0, and Tony Lenna hit a two-run triple for No. 1 Mission Bay (16-0-1, 6-0). Ray McDavid had a two-run triple for Clairemont (5-11, 2-4).

La Jolla 9, Kearny 6--Brad Raulston hit two bases-empty homers and singled in two runs for No. 9 La Jolla (12-5, 4-2). Kearny is 5-10-1, 1-5.

CITY CENTRAL LEAGUE

Crawford 13, Lincoln 5--Jeff Thrift had two singles and gained the victory in relief. Fred Stokes stole his 16th base and Jerry Davis had two doubles for host Lincoln (3-11, 2-4).

Crawford is 10-5 and 5-1.

Hoover 16, Christian 9--Albert Canedo hit a three-run homer in a seven-run fifth, one of 18 hits for visiting Hoover (12-6, 5-1). Christian 1-12 and 1-5.
