In This Case, Castle Park’s Moody Has the Time (9.7)

Share

Even though he won a close 100-meter race at the Titan Track Festival last Saturday, Castle Park High School junior Kioshyi Moody was disappointed with his time.

Moody finished in 11.1 seconds to edge Mira Mesa’s Bobby Nelson and San Diego’s Jimmy Kegler in a photo finish, but that mark from the electronic timing system didn’t please him.

In a dual meet Thursday, Moody equaled his best time of the year, running 100 yards in a hand-timed 9.7 seconds as Castle Park beat Chula Vista, 101-27.

“He had already done three events,” Castle Park Coach Alan Duke said of Saturday’s race. “He was there at 8 in the morning. It was a long day. I said, ‘Hey, you beat them all.’ ”

Moody also won the 220 Thursday in 22.9.
