The Buffalo Bills are looking into ways of obtaining a first-round pick in the next Sunday’s NFL draft, according to a published report.
Buffalo traded away its No. 1 draft choice in a deal last season in which they acquired linebacker Cornelius Bennett from the Indianapolis Colts.
The Buffalo News reported the Bills may trade a veteran player for the right to a first-round pick.
The newspaper quoted sources as saying the players most likely to figure in a deal are Bills running back Ronnie Harmon and cornerback Derrick Burroughs.
The Bills might consider maneuvering for Pitt running back Craig (Ironhead) Heyward, who might be available between the 20th and 28th spots in the draft’s first round. The Rams are also reportedly interested in Heyward.
