The Orange County Girls’ Track and Field Championships at UC Irvine Saturday were postponed because of rain after only the long jump and discus events were completed.

Allison Franke of Canyon High School won both.

In the discus, Franke’s throw of 148 feet outdistanced second-place Kelsey Allen of Capistrano Valley (142-6). El Dorado’s Cindy Lee (134-7) finished third, and Franke’s sister Megan (125-1) fourth.

The meet will be continued next Saturday, but Al Britt, meet director, said he did not know where it would be held.

In Sunset League baseball:

Westminster 3, Ocean View 0--Brian Stubbs threw a three-hitter, striking out nine, to lead host Westminster High School.

The victory puts Westminster (13-7 overall, 6-3 in league play) in sole possession of first place, with Ocean View (11-7, 5-3) a half-game out and Fountain Valley (10-9, 5-4) one back. Westminster will play at Ocean View Tuesday.

Stubbs lowered his earned-run average to 0.88 and has struck out 75 batters.

There were two rain delays, but after the second, in the fifth inning, Westminster scored three runs.

Brian Mantel led off the fifth with a walk, was sacrificed to second, stole third and scored on Ben Mendoza’s single to right. Mendoza, who took second on the throw to the plate, stole third and scored on Dave Rodriguez’s single to center. Rodriguez stole second, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on Jim Slagle’s double.

In Empire League baseball:
