Orange County’s Cal Juniors Win Volleyball Title

The Cal Juniors, an 18-and-under girls’ volleyball club from Orange County, defeated the Orange County Volleyball Club to win the U.S. Volleyball Assn. Junior National Championships Saturday at Fort Collins, Colo.
Cal Juniors, advancing out of the losers’ bracket, had to defeat the Orange County Volleyball Club twice to win the title. The Juniors squad won, 15-13, 15-12, then scored a 15-10 victory in a sudden-death game for the title.
Cal Juniors qualified for the final by beating the San Diego Volleyball Club, 14-16, 15-11, 15-4, in the final game of losers’ bracket play.
