Girls’ Basketball Event Tips Off at Bell-Jeff

The fourth annual Bell-Jeff High girls’ summer basketball tournament starts today at 10 a.m. with a slate of eight games at the Burbank high school’s gymnasium.
The tournament field of 24 teams includes state finalist Morningside, the tournament’s defending champion. Also in the field are Gahr, which won this year’s L.A. games, and Palos Verdes, last season’s Southern Section 3-A division champion.
Valley-area entrants are Alemany, Burbank, Burroughs, Glendale, Hart, Notre Dame, Thousand Oaks and Bell-Jeff.
