Prep Football : Pastorello Scores 3 Touchdowns to Lead Katella Past Magnolia

Running back Joe Pastorello rushed for three touchdowns to lead Katella High School to a 26-10 victory over Magnolia in the season opener for both schools Friday at Handel Stadium.
Pastorello, who finished with 184 yards in 14 carries, scored on runs of 2, 45 and 71 yards.
Katella quarterback Dennis Briggs scored his team’s other touchdown on a 23-yard run in the second quarter.
Magnolia took a 3-0 second-quarter lead, converting a fumble recovery into a 20-yard Richard Anderson field goal. The Knights responded with a nine-play, 65-yard drive capped by Pastorello’s 2-yard run.
The Katella defense limited Magnolia to 54 yards and two first downs in the second half.
Magnolia scored its only touchdown on a 2-yard run by Pat McNeil late in the game.
McNeil led the Sentinels with 31 yards rushing in 11 attempts.
